Let’s celebrate Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is only 2 days away. How will you celebrate?

I don’t mean, what will you do? or, where will you be?

I mean, how will you celebrate the reasons for which you are thankful?   You see…

  • We can eat without celebrating the harvest.
  • It is possible to be with our loved ones and not be joyful about their presence.
  • We may say the words of a prayer without ever communicating with our Heavenly Father.

This morning I needed to deliver some things to our church. I was making my last stop as I walked across the large room that is our worship center. A door opened across the span of the room and a tiny girl emerged, headed toward the restroom. We know each other but not well and she is often hesitant to greet me. But, not today! She saw me, we both waved, and she came running across the floor. I leaned down and asked if I could hug her. She grinned from ear-to-eat and said “sure” as she flung her little body into my arms. It was so sweet; I was almost in tears.

I told her that I was so glad to see her and she replied that she loved seeing me. I asked her if she was going camping soon and the smile got even wider. We wished each other “Happy Thanksgiving” and she headed on to her destination.

That Molly sure knows how to celebrate!!

This Thanksgiving, let’s let down our guard and, with abandon, celebrate all for which we are thankful!!! You can do this!!

Love,

Jill (just one of God’s kids)
